Beat the heat, check the back seat! While there can be several dangers to leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, the biggest danger is heat stroke, which can damage the brain and other body organs, and can even lead to death. So far in 2023, there have been 11 child deaths in the United States from vehicular heatstroke. Public health nurse Angel Smith reminds parents of the importance of never leaving a child in the back seat in her latest blog.
