The holidays can be a difficult time for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one; yet it’s also an important time to remember those we’ve lost. The annual Service of Remembrance - sponsored by Warner Funeral Home, Avera@Home of Spencer Hospital’s hospice services, Abben Cancer Center, and area clergy - is a special time to remember those loved ones.
The Candlelight Service of Remembrance will be Monday, November 28 at 6:30 PM at the Foundation Church, located at 1410 W. 18th Street in Spencer.
“The Christmas season can be a difficult time for grieving people,” commented Chelsea Reed, social worker for Avera@Home of Spencer Hospital’s hospice program. “This service is a time to remember and celebrate the lives of the loved ones we’ve lost.”
Anyone who wishes to honor a deceased loved one is invited to attend and join in this special candlelight service.
“We welcome everyone to join us in our Service of Remembrance,” encouraged Alana Clark, Director for Avera@Home of Spencer Hospital. “This is not a service just for families and friends of hospice patients, all people are invited.”
For those who are unable to attend Monday evening’s service, it will be livestreamed on the Foundation Church’s website and will be rebroadcast on Spencer Municipal Utilities community channel the following dates and times:
- Thursday, December 1 - 5 PM
- Friday, December 2 - 8:30 PM
- Saturday, December 3 - 1 PM
- Sunday, December 4 - 12 PM
Anyone with questions regarding the special candlelight service is encouraged to call Hospice of Spencer Hospital at 712-264-6380.
