Volunteer

The Spencer Hospital Auxiliary, associated with our Volunteer Services, provides priceless services to the hospital and community. Our Auxiliary members are dedicated to the organization's mission to serve Spencer Hospital's patients, their families, visitors and hospital staff, and do so in countless ways.

Our Auxiliary volunteer services include:

Information Desk and Crossroads Volunteers: Enjoy walking and love people? We welcome volunteer escorts to provide a friendly face and comforting guidance to patients and visitors. We also seek welcoming faces to greet visitors and who can uphold the strictest of confidentiality. Also, everyone is delighted to see a volunteer delivering flowers, balloons, mail or e-greetings.

Gift Shop Volunteers: Are you a shopper? Our Gift Shop may be the place for you ... that is, if you can resist temptation yourself! Volunteers run the gift shop, help with displays, pricing products and more!

Magazine Cart: Like to visit? Our patients enjoy the magazines delivered by volunteers who manage the magazine cart.

Special Projects: Our volunteers help with numerous special projects throughout the year, ranging from labeling envelopes to putting scarves of stuffed animals, which the auxiliary purchases and donates to pediatric patients. If you’re schedule is unpredictable yet you like to help when you can, a special project may be just right for you!

The Auxiliary is also active in raising funds to coincide with their mission of supporting the patients, visitors and professionals of Spencer Hospital. Fund-raising activities include Gift Shop sales, a Holiday Cookie Walk and other periodic fund-raising events such as special sales for books, jewelry or healthcare uniforms. The Auxiliary has used its funds to benefit hospital patients and guests in numerous ways and also to provide scholarships to individuals seeking health care careers.
